Akhtamar Quartet
Akhtamar, an Armenian legend. The name of the quartet is a reference to the Armenian Miniatures by Komitas/Aslamazyan, which the ensemble has performed with passion since its foundation.
Formed in Brussels in 2014, the ensemble was one of the six quartets selected for the “tremplins jeunes quatuors” of Paris’ Philharmonie in 2016 and in the same year won the second prize in the Musiq’3 festival. In 2021, the quartet won third prize in the International Johannes Brahms Competition…

Young audiences
Making classical music accessible to as many people as possible is one of the Akhtamar quartet’s main objectives.
As children are rarely exposed to traditional music and classical instruments, the quartet has created shows especially for young audiences. These include “The Dream Makers” and “Classical Music, As You Like It!”
In all of these performances, the quartet leads children on a unique musical journey, where sounds from all over the world fuse with messages of kindness and sharing.

Convinced of the beneficial power of music on the body and mind, the Quartet is committed to carrying out solidarity projects to contribute to the well-being of society.
A vector of hope and escape, classical music allows isolated or vulnerable people to experience an intense moment of sharing and exchange.
The quartet’s solidarity performances are adapted for hospital environments. They have been performed on tour in Armenia and will soon be brought to Lebanon.
